2025-2026 Senior Boys Provincial Champions, the PWA Titans
The Peace Wapiti Academy (PWA) Titans and Beaverlodge Regional High School (BRHS) Royals are celebrating after impressive showings at the Volleyball Provincials hosted in Grande Prairie.
For the first time in the school’s history, and in front of a packed crowd on their home court, the PWA Senior Boys team won the provincial title after a 25-21 26-24 win against the Central Alberta Christian High School. PWA Coach Philip Duffy says he couldn’t be prouder of his team. “Our team’s goal was to set a legacy to be remembered by. The boys definitely played their best volleyball throughout the whole tournament and rose to the occasion.” The team won all six of their games, beating Beaverlodge in the semi-finals 15-13 in the third set, which was their closest match.
The PWA Senior Girls team battled hard, played with heart, and earned themselves the bronze medal after beating St. Joe’s 17-15 in the third set. Coach Duffy says they are a young team, mostly consisting of Grade 10 and 11 students, and commends them for playing their best when it mattered most.

BRHS Athletic Director Myles Edgar says he is proud of his team and everything they’ve accomplished. “Our Senior Boys had a great tournament, only losing one close match in three sets to PWA. They went on to win the bronze medal and we are all so proud of their hard work and sportsmanship.” He shares the Senior Girls team had a strong Saturday, and ended up finishing the tournament in fifth place.
